I would call it... (Phone-tography) I believe that if there just HAS to be a name for it, that could be an option. We can’t put genies back in the bottle, or stop evolution. This is where we are now! And guess what! It’s not stopping here! ALL ABOARD!!! Or not! I believe a photographer is a photographer regardless of his or her equipment. And, just like a fancy set of brushes don’t make you an artist, or a expensive violin make you a skilled musician, the opposite is also true. I once heard a story about an auction selling an old beat up violin for like $5.00 and NOBODY would buy it. Then a master violinist happened by and played it. Afterward, it sold for a small fortune. I think it was called ”In the Master’s hands.” The point is this. A true photographer is the creator of true photography regardless of what’s in his or her hands! The magic is in the person! Let us keep moving forward and continue making the world a better place!
I call it photography.
I have seen some outstanding photographs taken via smartphone. A wise photographer once said, "The best camera is the one you happen to have with you."
Incidentally, one of the photos I'm exhibiting right now was taken with a smartphone. I'm not telling which.

noun
the art or practice of taking and processing photographs. Cell phones take pictures. Perhaps a word would be; Communicate.
Taken with a cell phone. DSLR would have missed that shot.
Wim needs to adjust to the times. What I see in the picture is that photography is more alive than it has ever been, with an awesome tool in the hands of nearly EVERYONE. People who just want to buy a talking device now have the ability to get, not just stills, but amazing videos of people, events, and places such that the world has never seen before. Now, we have literally billions of photojournalists covering things that "real photographers" could never get to. Sorry, Wim, this is modern photography, photography accentuated, NOT the death of photography!
Smart phones has come a long way. They are getting better and better all the time.
