Think I will hold off ordering two bodies (need one for B&W one for colour), till the 85mm lens becomes available.

In camera VR. 5.0 stops.

The in camera VR appeals to me . Got a Nikon fit Sigma telephoto without VR, that in camera VR would make some the older lens a bargain .

Not that interested in watching Nikon's panic to join an already well-established market several years too late.

Adorama and B&H just sent notices. Z7 is $3,397 body only. Z6 is $1,997, body only.

Lenses are around $1000 for the zoom and less for the other two listed.

Should sell pretty well at those prices-- a lot of Nikon glass out there.

I just watched it. Very interesting. Nikon declared its determination to become the number one camera manufacturer in the world. The head of the imaging production division said that Nikon will continue to make improvements and advancements to it's line of dslr and mirrorless cameras. The two mirrorless models seem to have been engineered to jump into the mirrorless foray in a very big way. It will be interesting to see the results from testing of the cameras capabilities and the marks they receive. I hope they do very well.

The specs sound a lot like Sony. And Sony sold 40% of all the cameras (not cell phone) in the USA for the first half of this year. So, I think Nikon has a way to go to catch up. But, hey, competition is always good for the consumer.

But nobody's actually "road-tested" them, so it's just comparing specs and guessing so far.

I would't buy one the first year or so as most likely they will have some minor or worse problems. Look at new model computers, cars, etc.
