I have acquired a new Lenovo Yoga 920 ( 4 k laptop). I have PS and LR subscription on two computers (one a laptop). I only use one computer at a time. Am I able to download PS and LR on the Lenovo and not have to get another subscription. I think I know the answer; however, I maintain hope.

Thanks in advance for your answers. UHH has never let me down.

Highest regards,

Terry Sandlin

Yes, you (or at least with my subscription) are allowed to use it on three computers. If you ever need to exceed three computers, you do not need a new subscription, it will simply sign you out on another computer, you just are not allowed to use more than three units at the same time.

The license for PS/LR subscription allows for it to be actively in use on two devices. You can install it on however many devices you want, but only two concurrent are allowed. That's the official word from Adobe.

https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/using/install-apps-number-of-computers.html

Now, unofficially I have run it simultaneously on a laptop, desktop and a tablet, with an Adobe tech support person on the phone, who was audibly scratching his head, wondering how I could do that.

I have Creative Cloud installed on 3 systems; 1 desktop, laptops. You can only have 2 copies active at any given moment, you just have to sign out on one to activate the other.

Thanks. You are great. Whether I could do it or not, you provided clear direct answers. Wouldn't it be nice if politicians would do the same.

The people on this forum are outstanding.

I can confirm the "2 active installs" explanation. I am currently migrating from old to new desktop. So, in addition to my laptop, that results in three active installs. Adobe CC limits to two devices at a time, so it logs me out of the one not in use. That happens upon startup and there is a warning provided. And, that works for me since the old desktop is being retired in favor of the much, much faster new one.

I'm going to be facing this problem soon, so I'm curious about something. When y'all talk about signing out or logging out of Adobe, what does that mean. I always thought I would have to literally remove the product from a third computer. But if that computer is turned off, do I not have to remove the program? In other words, if only two computers are actually on at one time, will that satisfy Adobe?

When using Adobe Creative Cloud, you must login. If you use that same computer on a regular basis, the login is automatic and transparent to you. However, if you change to use the "other" computer, you will not be able to log-in without logging-out of the first computer. Adobe CC prompts you to do this.

Otherwise, you can have Adobe CC installed on as many computers as you'd like. But, you can only have two functional at a time. The Adobe CC login process assures that usage.

You should be asking Adobe, not use....

But with the subscription you are allowed to install it on up to three computers, but only use it on one at a time.

Personally I wouldn't bother installing Photoshop on a laptop. They just aren't that great for image editing and optimization to a high degree, such as PS is used for. To finish images to a high level, it's much better to use desktop with a calibrated monitor in in a fixed location (where lighting is controlled and consistent).

I have Lightroom installed on both desktop and laptop. But I have Photoshop installed only on my desktop.

I have the Creative Cloud installed on 4 computers: 1) a desktop pc, 2) a laptop pc i use for photo editing, 3) a much smaller photo pc I travel with, and 4) a macbook pro. As everyone here has said, you can only have it running on 2 devices at a time. This really isn't a problem. I don't use the suite on either the mac or traveling pc much, so it is mostly running on the desktop pc and the larger pc laptop i sometimes use for editing. If I am traveling and want to use it, it will tell me I have exceeded the number of computers and that I need to unregister the others and sign in on the one I want to use. When I click the ok button, it unregisters me on the two active computers and then pops up a window where I can sign in with my adobe id/user name and password. Then all works fine. I switch with computers all the time. It really is a good sane system that accounts for the fact that a single person might be using different computers in different situations. I believe I also have it on my work computer, which I rarely use, but every once in awhile I want to edit a photo there, so again, I simply sign out of what is registered and log on with the new computer.

I calibrate my laptop monitor just as I do my desktop monitor. I take it from your comment that you do not calibrate your laptop. Why not?
