So, I just wanted to say I love Good Will. I went in there today just because I had to drop off some old clothes and of course, I have to go in and look around. Walked up to a shelf and there sat a tripod! I have wanted a better tripod for a while but haven't had money to buy one. The only thing missing on it is the quick release plate. I paid $4 for the tripod and $5 for a new quick release plate. Found the tripod online and it was going for $90 new. Score for me!

Maggie, good score for you!
I too have a tripod I got a year or two ago at Goodwill. It too is missing the plate.
So WHERE did you get a plate for $5??
Thanks

Amazon.com and technically I got the plate for free because I had points saved up and paid $0 for it.

Thank you. Good tip. We drop stuff off at Good Will all the time, but have never gone in to look.
Goodwill, UGM (Union Gospel Mission), Salvation Army, other thrift stores, garage sales, estate sales, and many more. The last pair of work shoes I got was from a Salvation Army store and paid $7.50 for them, about $75 new. Great places for bargains. The last time I went in to our local Goodwill they had 3 tripods.
That's was a great deal Maggie! Now maybe we'll see some photos! LOL! It's been too long!
