I just wrap it in a plastic bag.

I just want to ask, what are you shooting that has to be shot while it’s raining?
How much rain and for how long will you be in the rain?

Depends on what camera you have - some are water tight or water resistant and shooting in the rain will not harm them - others use plastic wrap and/or plastic bags - there are also
rain sleeves you can purchase...
an umbrella mounted on your tripod works too -
Rain will only show up well if it is lighted.
Well I well be shooting waterfalls and land slides during rain ....
For waterfalls and landslides in Monsoon conditions go with the underwater cases or use a dedicated underwater camera such as Nikonos or one of the new Tough guy digicams that claim to go safely to 2 or 3 meters underwater and bounce off rocks. Otherwise, prepare a Power of Attorney and Last Will and Testament for yourself and the DSLR.

After answering SharpShooter's questions; in a light rain you could try a plastic bag. In heavy rain, stay indoors and sit in front of your computer and work on your previous batch of photos.

flash flood waterfalls and land slides during rain storm...?...
...you will not need water shielding or housing, but a funeral! Bad bad idea.

Similar to my conclusion.
World wide weather reports have included much about serious floods in India. Is that where you are now?
I mostly use a weather-resistant micro 4/3 Oly with a prime lens, so it is quite light and can be held one-handed while the other hand supports a large umbrella. Sometimes I use a sleeve with heavier lenses.
The big problem is no matter how well I think the lens is protected in either case, it still gets drops on it.
Any ideas for that?

"who to shoot in rain"
Who did you have in mind????
I use Op/Tech Rainsleeve for shooting soccer games. About $8 for two pack. Have carried the same two for probably four years now. Only needed a couple of times.

I'm sure he meant "how". But he probably drowned by now so the typo doesn't matter.
