I love your well composed, sharp images in a natural environment, Bernie!
Thank you for sharing!
I also love these birds. They are incredible creatures. They get used to me around my mountain camps and even "explore" my open tent inside.
When I bring them the food, they fly around me happily chirping and sometimes even sit unpatiently on my hands.
Then, by 8:30 PM they come to see me hovering about 6 inches in front of my face - to say good night.
So inteligent lovely, wild creatures.

Go to your favorite garden center store or home improvement and pickup a feeder. However, do NOT buy the red liquid feed. It has been determined to be harmful to hummers.Search online for alternative food. My wife used a cup of boiled water mixed with regular sugar, sorry I don't know how much. They swarm in on it. If you buy more than one, it gets comical to see the squabbles over territory, especially by males. Also, about mid-September it is recommended to stop feeding them or they will fail to migrate and possibly die in the colder weather.
