I am considering purchasing an Epson SureColor P400/600/800 printer and would greatly appreciate opinions about this line of printers. I am thinking about printing a very select few of my best "Artsie" photos for sale. Thanks for any guidance you can give me.

I have the P600 and LOVE it!
Really love Epson printers, which comes from the days when I worked in R&D at the world's largest commercial printer. Epson has been in the forefront of photo printer technology for many years. They were one of the first with 6 and 8 cartridge UltraChrome pigment ink printers for a wide color space and archival prints. The prints are beautiful. BUT, there have been complaints for years of nozzles blocked up and then needing to use a lot of [expensive] ink to get them cleared. Owned one for years and experienced it. Finally got fed up cleaning ink jet heads and was going to buy a Canon photo printer, which get very good reviews from photography publications then Epson came up with Claria archival dye inks. Ended up buying a Expression XP-15000 13" wide printer. So far, I am very happy with it. If I didn't use my pigment ink printer for, say, a week I can guarantee having to clean the heads. Let the XP-15000 sit for a week and it just works with no problems.

I use the R3000 (the model that was replaced by the P600) and swear by it. I do wish that I had the larger unit at times. Since you are considering using it to make prints for sale maybe you should consider the P800.
I have the 800. Used intermittently and works flawlessly. Spectacular prints
I am using P800 and am very satisfied with both color and black and white prints. The support is also excellent.
I also have the P800. Couldn't be happier. I recently added the roll adapter to print panoramas and am now experimenting with some of Epson's higher grade, Legacy paper. Its quality of B&W is also quite impressive. I use it regularly for fine art exhibits. Highly recommended.

I have only been using my XP-15000 for about a month, good to hear about the dye not drying and clogging the heads. I can say I love the prints. Stunning color. Could not be happier, so far I've sold 12 prints I've printed out on the printer. Finding I run through yellow at twice the rate of the other colors. Only got 7 prints (13X19) out of the factory cartridges, only buying XL cartridges now.

The larger the printer you can afford, the lower the ink cost will be per square foot...
The Surecolor series is excellent!
Thanks to Rebel1, Robertven, Strode, Rich1939,Archiefamous, IzzyKap, Magpix, and Wmurahan for your help in choosing a printer. I wish there was such a thing as a place I could to to see the printers and compare them side by side like in the old days, but I find that the comments and advice that is based on actual use from each of you to be most helpful! Thanks again.
Thanks burkphoto - that makes my decision based on quantitative which is certainly a big consideration.
