The town I live in is having a two day garage sale. Today and Saturday. What it is people in the town set up at their homes a sale of used or unwanted household articles. No sale tax. I was out and about checking out the sales, I stop at one place and found a Pentax K-1000 with a 50mm Pentax's Lens and owner manual. The camera body was in very good condition. The lens is the same. I pay a big $10.00 for it. I be out on Saturday checking out more garage sales. I have to go back to two places to see what kind of cameras people have. I ask people do their have old 35mm film cameras, a lot of people will said no. But sometime people said yes, but do not have them out, because to them 35mm film is no longer made, so the camera has no value, why try to sell something that have no value.

Garage sales can be wonderful if you have the time to look.

Once in a while I stop at garage sales looking for a simple and old tripod for reenactment needs. At one sale I asked and was shown a nice Manfrotto 3021. Not really wanting or needing it the curosity got the best of me. Asking what they wanted for it I was told, "Hows $5.00 sound?" Well, I added another tripod to my collection.

The only problem is that it will likely take at least 10 times that cost for a head. (At least I got a nice bag with it.) LoL

Don't put much stock in what yard-sellers have to say. Film continues to be made, by Kodak, Ilford Fuji and others. It is made in b&w, color negative, color slide ( in fact Kodak is well along in the beta testing of their re-introduction of 35mm Ektachrome with full release only weeks away), and in 35mm as well as roll-film (120) and sheet film. ALL of it can be processed commercially (my two go-to's are The Darkroom in San Clemente CA and Old School Photo in Dover, NH) or at home.

You would be surprise what people don't known about film for a camera. With digital cameras all over the place, which use to be film cameras. Out sight, out off mind. People are sold on digital cameras. Yes, you and I known about getting film and get it develop. With digital camera people are getting their pictures now not a week later and the cost is less by digital.
