I'm looking for a smaller, easier to handle, lens hood for the Nikon 200-500mm lens. The original hood is large and cumbersome for me. Thanks! Lou

Lens hoods are made specifically for lenses, so another one might not be any good, the hood is large for a reason!

For me the issue is not the weight (you are right to point out that it s a heavy lens) but packing it for travel. Even when reverse mounted on the lens, it adds circumference to an already large lens that I could do without.

It does take up a lot of room in a camera bag. I had to move the dividers around to get it to fit. Thanks, Lou

Thanks to everyone who replied with some great links and viable options. Sorry that it has taken me so long to post this, but I had company over the weekend.

Thanks Again, Lou
