Went up to Volant Pa. about 50 miles north of Pittsburgh to get some country photos something different than my city photos. This was a midday venture not the best of light but you work with what you have. Thanks for viewing saying hello from Pittsburgh.

The reason I asked was that I used to work for Armco Steel. They had a plant in Butler that produced what they called "Electric steel". It was used for outer coverings for things like electric motors. Armco went out of business in the early 90's and is now owned by AK Steel. I worked at a small Armco plant in Baltimore for 22 years. We made Stainless steel rod, bar and wire.
I used to joke that Armco was going to merge with Pittsburgh Steel and the company would then be called ARMPIT STEEL. lol
P.S. ARMCO got its name because it was called originally American Rolling Mill Company and is dated from the late 1800's and originated in Middletown, Ohio. I was in the Baltimore plant from 1969 until 1991 in the Engineering Dept.
Nice set Joe - makes me want to go there!

Nicely done, Joe.

Hey Joe, where are the barns with the billboard saying "Chew Mail Pouch Tobacco"? I remember seeing them from Pittsburgh all the way to St. Marys, PA. What happened to them?
