I don't think that's going to give you enough reach. I'd look for more zoom than what you suggest.

What's not "going to give you enough reach"? (there's more than one suggestion on the previous 2 pages)

I have mostly used the Sony 18-200 SEL18200LE when on m y travels, and have found that it gives me excellent results and saves an awful lot of time that my wife has to spend waiting for me.
Which always makes trips more fun.

When I shot with APS-C sized sensor, my favorite lens was the 18-105mm "G" lens. I also had an 18-200 which is made by Tamron. I found that the 18-200 was affected by bad weather and would freeze up. I sent it back to Tamron, and after repair, it still would freeze up. So my recommendation is the 18-105, especially if you ever use video, because it has electronic zoom, and stays in focal very well! Not to mention that the sharpness of the lens is spectacular!

Thanks. I had not seen that. Going with the 18-105.

We use a 22-300 Tamron lens,A tad heavy, but, covers most situations.

I am going this fall (October). I have seen the places to go provided by other HOGS -- have noted them and it is appreciated. I cannot seem to find any lens suggestions, though. I plan to take my Sony A6000, but need a suggestion, or two, on a good walk-around lens. I have a 30mm and a 50mm prime, and of course, the two kit lenses. Suggestions appreciated. Thanks in advance.

30mm prime of those mentioned.
Leave the rest home.

Thanks -- Just received the 18-105 from a fellow hogger. It's on the camera now. I'll check it out a bit today. From what I've shot so far (just indoor practice with nothing worth posting), it looks like exactly what I was looking for.

You will love that lens. Easily the best walk-around lens for my Sony A6500. Used more than any other lens I have for that camera. Cheers

Thanks to all who have made suggestions. I decided on the Sony 18-105, and, GrandmaG had one. I made the connection with her and purchased hers. Everything is perfect -- the lens, the communication, the shipping, the price, just everything. This will be my walk around lens for the cruise, and probably most of everything I shoot with the a6000. Actually going to try it this week with my 8 year old grand daughter in Williamsburg -- good things to shoot there.

Again, thanks to all!
