blacks on print turning red

I use an Epson Artisan 837 printer with the appropriate inks. Recently prints that look great, a few days later the shadows or black areas of the photo start to change to red. The photos aren't in direct sunlight but are sitting on my kitchen counter which receives very good indirect light. Any ideas as to the cause ?

Are you using Epson inks or some third-party refill? are they within the expiration dates? The time may have come to contact Epson technical support.

Try a better quality of paper, like Epson's Exhibition Fiber Paper or Hahnemuhle Fine Art Ink Jet. Find printer profiles from your paper mfg and use them during the print process. If you use Lightroom, this is a snap. Also, use a hardware device to calibrate your monitor.

You say you are using appropriate ink - I am assuming you use Epson ink.

That leaves only the paper. Are you using Epson paper?

Try putting them in a drawer for a few days and see if they still change.
