G'day all macro photographers. Here are, I believe, my very first true macro photos, as a result of Douglass' help and tuition. If they are not, then please let me know. Also, provide your C&C to help me improve in this interesting field of photography.

Hi Shaka....please note that I am also very new to all this, but have gotten great help and support from the forum..I like the bees, but it looks like they're slightly soft on focus, esp. the second one...the dandelion looks great, I can't say the flower centre does much for me....having said this, I know how difficult it is to take good macro shots like some of these witches found on the forum, and I think you've done a very good job.

Hey Shaka from Foster' Land
What a great set of photographs. Love em all but #1 and the dandelion head are magnificent. Well done, one day I will get somewhere close to this quality, and even further in the distance maybe a small part as good as Nikonian72, well when you quit dreaming you quit life. Good on yer mate!
Ian

#1, #3, & #4 appear to be true macro-photographs. #2 is a close-up, and the soft resolution of bee does not hold-up to enlargement.

#1 could have used a little fill light to reveal detail in shadows. I have slightly tweaked with Picnik.

Slight increased of exposure, contrast, saturation, sharpness

And DO NOT hesitate to crop!

I would be proud to call this one my own.

Bogeyeliot, thank you for your encouragement. I agree, all on this forum have been a great help for which I'm very grateful. Brian

G'day Ian, I think that we all aspire to become as good as Nikonian72 but, hey, don't undersell yourself! You know how much I respect your photos and your C&C. Thank you for encouragement.

This is the best compliment that I could expect, thank you. I won't hesitate to crop in the future.

How did you know? My wife wishes that I come back down to ground with a big bump. No too sure that I won't to though! I think that I can revel in my glory for awhile longer. But the bump when it happens will be pretty painful!
