seed pods. I thought these were very interesting. They were growing on trees at the West Cancer Center where I visit on a regular basis. I missed the blooms but was able to reach some low growing branches that I trimmed and brought home. (got permission) They were hanging over cars and touching some. Inside the pods are several smaller than pea sized, black seeds. I have never tried to grow these as they can be quite messy but they have a pleasant shape and the beautiful golden flowers are a show stopper. Just sorry I wasn't scheduled to be at the Clinic while they were in bloom.
that's cool looking, nice shots!!!!

Thank you, Johnny B! Seed pods are fascinating!
Beautiful shots of some very interesting seed pods, Corolyn! I used to collect these before our golden rain tree was destroyed in a hurricane. The seeds would plant themselves, and we had tiny golden rain trees growing under the main one...but no more.

So sorry you lost your tree, Donna. I still have the pods and they are changing color so I may do another photo shoot.
How unusual and beautifully photographed, Corolyn.... I think I would have snatched a branch as well!!
Are you going to plant the seeds in a pot to see what happens??

Well I actually contemplated whether to do that. But what is the point? They are very messy trees and I don't need another clean up job! Thanks for your sweet comment.
