I grew up a farm boy and one of my main jobs was helping with the hay harvest. Thus I have a great fondness for images with hay (or straw) bales and shoot them at every opportunity I get. Thanks for posting these - as you would expect, my favorite is the one with the bales.
Thank you very much for taking the time to look in and comment Mike it's much appreciated.Glad you liked them.

I'll have that as well John
Thanks for looking in John I always appreciate it.
These are excellent photos but the lone tree stands out even from this August group. However, in my opinion it could still be made better by cropping in from the right about 1/3 of the way to the farthest right part of the tree, and about 1/4 of the way up from the bottom to the horizon (and tree base). Eliminating the extraneous space while keeping enough surroundings to establish the sense of place seems to add some dynamic tension and visual balance to the photo while concentrating the viewer's attention to the tree (which is the hero of this photo). Just my opinion, other's mileage may vary. I love the way that all the lines (rows of field stubble, road and clouds) lead the eye to the tree. The extensive depth of field (sharp foreground AND background) promotes the feeling of depth and distances. If I were the photographer and entering this in a competition,I might also consider cloning out the trunk of the farther tree.
Exceptional photograph! Worthy of printing large and framing for display on a wall (whether yours or a client's).
