Which model, specifically?
Still looking for one myself.

Guessing free standing means not a laptop?

Guess that would mean I have three freestanding monitors. Each calibrated. I set Adobe to calibrate with the printer. Use SpyderPro5.

What’s your favorite free standing monitor? What size? Do you calibrate the colors?

Any monitor that displays 100% of the sRGB color space and 99% of Adobe RGB. Preferably it would be a 10-bit monitor if the computer video card supports that.

I DO NOT adjust images on monitors that have not been calibrated with a colorimeter and software.

I've got two monitors. One is a year old 24" LG Ultra Wide, the other is an older model and regular shape 19" Samsung. Both are self calibrated by me using a blank sheet of print paper from my regular printer service.

The older model Samsung monitor was needing calibration so often that I, (hey, it's about 15 years old!), only use it sparingly. One of these days I'll get another newer monitor to match the LG. (Love it)

I am also curious about how this works. Please elaborate.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "free standing monitor". I use a 27" iMac for my processing. Yes, definitely calibrated. I use a Datacolor Spyder for that.

Dell 27" 4k. Sometimes I have to use a magnifying glass to see certain detail. Try that on a standard monitor.

Yes I asked this same question earlier. It seems he is referring to what is commonly called an external monitor, versus a screen that is permanently attached to a laptop, or tablet, phone, ipad, et. Al.

I have two Asus monitors. My wife also has one. We are very pleased with them. "ASUS PA248Q 24" ProArt Professional 1920x1200 IPS HDMI Eye Care Monitor"
"Professional-grade color fidelity with pre-calibrated ∆E <5 for industry-leading color accuracy"

A lot for the price. Available also on Amazon.

A Delta-E of 2 or less is highly desirable for photography... It’s achievable via custom calibration and profiling.

BenQ SW271 27", calibrated with an Xrite i1 Display Pro. It replaced an Eizo of similar size which cost three times as much and it performs just as well.
