Gorgeous photos. The Dalton demands respect especially in winter.

Outstanding scenery, you are an adventures person my friend. It must have been sooooo coooold.
Thanks for your kind comment, it is outstanding scenery for sure. Wish everyone could see it! Burrrrrrr, yes it was a little cold, lol. But strange thing was the first day in AK, sun shining, windy, but the -35 made it hurt to breathe, literally could feel your lungs freeze. Add the cold of the ground coming up thru your boots. Hand/foot Warmers are a God send!

I get the impression it is probably rougher in the summer. Go figure. It is kept well plowed in winter, our driver did note to us that it was smoother than normal. I did not see any issues with it at all. The big trick I think is 'MOUNTAIN SNOW TIRES'. Much less likely hood of gravel damage due to the snow on the road, too. Not as much snow as I expected; once I stepped off the road, it was 'only' about 3 feet deep, in the Brooks Range. At Coldfoot, away from buildings, I think it was maybe 20 inches deep. Just keep gassed up, with 10 gallons extra, in cans!

Conditions were definitely less than ideal for photography, but the scenery is unbelievable! Glad you like them.
