I would like to hear from someone who feels they have a quality, sturdy monopod. I bought a Siuri without the feet and I can’t keep it still. Can you tell me if having the 3 feet on the bottom helps much. Thank you for your time.
I have this manfrotto mono pod and I find it very steady. It would practically stand on its own. Not that Iâd leave my camera alone. If the feet are similar Iâd guess yes
I have 2 of their best 326-S Carbon Fiber w/feet ...depending on the one you have ..you can by the feet separate and screw the onto the bottom ..
Mine are so sturdy .. The camera and lens can stand without me holding the monopod ..., but I don’t do it as a habit and never when the wind is blowing ...I’ll send you a private msg with pic ..
Yes it does help, I've found placing my left hand on top of the camera hepls

I have a Benro with the feet and it will stand on it's own with the camera and short lenses. Sometimes I use it to hold my flash off camera and it works great. The only thing I don't like about it is the feet do not lock in the up position and they "self deploy" at inconvenient times. I'm trying to figure out how to notch them so that they lock in the up position. Benro are you listening......
Siuri 326-S Carbon Fiber 36mm mainpost ...stable as a rock.......in the pictures to my right is one of the best 36mm carbon fiber monopods you can buy .. 3 feet that fold up and the tension is adjustable ..cabable of holding up and stand alone .., but not in the wind ..not for the timid .. this is a beast ..
I have seen a hand full of replies here on the Hogg over the years where other Hogg’s have this same Monopod ...I was so impressed .. , I bought 2 ...ended up giving one to my brother who when he saw mine .., he druled like a boxer dog .. whined and barked until I gave my 2nd to him ....now he just smiles and wags \his tail ...😎
Buy one .., then go into the best camera store and compare it to the Manfrotto/ Gitzo ..and others ...then return it for a refund if you don’t think it blows the others away ...
When I say it is not for the timid ...it’s rugged build and high cost might scare most away ...IMHO

I would be hesitant to rely on any footed monopod for support. If adjusted correctly, with a decent monopod (not ball) head, your hands on your camera and lens should be enough support to keep it stable. I've had Manfrotto, Induro and Really Right Stuff, all of which were stable if adjusted correctly.
Jerry, that is one monster monopod and has a healthy sticker price as well. However, it looks like it certainly gets high enough and should be strong based on the size of those tubes. Added 1 to my wish list. This site & a couple others I look at are bad for my wallet.
I have a Manfrotto monopod that I have had for ~20 years. It, with its trigger-style ball head, has shot countless games and done a fantastic job. Look at the sidelines of a college or pro game and see what the pros are shooting. I don’t recall having seen a footed monopod on the sideline of a college or pro game.
Why would you want feet on a monopod? The ability to move the angle of the monopod in conjunction with the head allow for tracking action.
shutterbug..,the Sirui 326-S w/feet swivels.., pivots .. has tension control adjustment and the whole 3 foot system folds up and or alll of it unscrews to allow a single rubber or metal spike bottom .. it will hold a 600mm prime with ease ..and has extreme height .. all this with carbon fiber 36mm tube to start .., and a pro tension locking that can’t be beat ....., but hey .. as shown .. use pvc and glue and call it a day ..
Or just learn Regis hand held techniques and never need a monopod or tripod ..
The Siuri fold and LOCK in place..on my old aluminum monopod .., I had the same problem so I perminently mounted a Velcro strap .. I fold the feet and connect the Velcro .. it holds fine .. one flip .. the Velcro ..,releases the legs ‘...ahhh

One of the purposes of a monopod is to allow the user freedom of movement on a level axis. If you put feet at the bottom of a mono pod you limit the left to right on right to left movement and really restrict your movement.
You might want to consider a tripod, it would almost be the same thing, and more steady.

I could never understand feet on a monopod. It seems that its only use would be to let it stand by itself when the camera isn't on it. How can they call it a monopod if it has three legs?

Then you add a ball head.
