The new skout from cotton carrier

Just wondering if any one has made a pledge for one or two of the new skout from Cotton Carrier? It looks like a more comfortable carry than the original cotton carrier.

I was considering taking advantage of it, I carry my camera in a back pack when out hiking or biking and so on, always seems by the time I get back pack off and camera out I have missed the shot in many cases.

Looks interesting, but I think I will stick with my original style Cotton Carrier which distributes the weight to both shoulders instead of one. I would rather see a model of the original version that extends down to the waist and has a waist belt that distributes the weight to the hips like a trekking backpack. I use my Cotton Carrier for my D800 with heavy lenses. It is superior to any other method for carrying a large heavy camera, but by the end of the day, my shoulders and neck feel it. Well designed backpacks place the bulk of the load on your hips allowing you to easily carry heavy loads with little strain.

I have considered the original cotton carrier many times but, my main fly fishing pack carries the same as the original cotton carrier and for me I find when biking or hiking it obscures my vision at my feet. I where bifocals and just feel having the camera to one side would be better for me. And I am not sure about the whole pledging program with cotton carrier, it looks like a cheaper way to try one out. Just if it is all leget.

I notice that same problem with the cotton carrier - trouble seeing. I also wear bifocals, so seeing where my feet are is always a problem. But with the camera in front on the Carrier, it's really bad. I did get the holster carrier so that I could carry two cameras. I've decided to always use the holster carrier instead of the front one.

I have the holster too that I use when I need a second camera. If you are going to only use the holster, you might be better off dispensing with the Cotton Carrier and mount the holster on a belt and add a security strap. I regularly have my D800 with a 24-70mm f2.8 on the front of the Cotton Carrier and I have never considered the blocked view of my shoes to be an issue. But, then my shoes are nothing to look at!
