It was Ok in its time long ago, but I prefer LR CC Classic
I'll stick with PS, which you mention in the title, but nowhere in the actual post.

I prefer the subscription, always have the latest and greatest of Lightroom and Photoshop for $10.00 a month.
I prefer the much overlooked and ignored PaintShop Pro. Been using it for years and haven't found anything it can't do that I want to do any better than LR.
Photoshop is a very different tool from Lightroom. Both are complementary, and can do quite a few of the same things. As for LR4, it's great on a small screen like a tablet. This is what it's intended for. LR Classic is much better on a large display.
LR Classic and ON1 Photo Raw for me.
I have used Photoshop and switched to Corelβs Paintshop. It does what I need and I donβt have to get a PHD in photo manipulation to use it. As others have said, just use whatever works for you!

Nowhere near as capable and useful as the current offerings.

What is your statement or question?
The "last" few Lightrooms were Lr 6, Lr CC, Lr Classic CC
The latest Photoshop is Ps CC. I still use Ps CS6, for now anyway.
Topaz can be fun, but I don't use it regularly, same with Nik (the old free version).
So if you are asking what we use, I use
Windows 10 Home 64-bit
Ps CS6 64-bit
ARC 9.1.1
Topaz (A dozen or so Plugins)
Nik (the old Free version)
Oloneo (HDR software, have not really tried it yet)
I have almost every product on the market. I play around with all of them from time to time. When an image is important to me I will gravitate to Lightroom Classic and Photoshop CC 2018. There is nothing better than Adobe CC but there are a few that are fun to play with.
Ditto: One cannot beat this deal with a stick.

Only wish I knew what you are asking? LR 4 may still work but it is a shadow compared to the cc version. Your Yugo may still run but...... :)

I have LR6 and PS 6, in addition to several other new processors. I'll keep using Adobe's offerings while they continue to work. I know how to make them do what I want to do, so I use them.
