Thanks for the comment. I used the Canon L 100mm macro on a tripod. Lighting was from a lamp with an incandescent bulb; pp primarily with Photoshop.

Nice job. Love the 100mm Macro. I hope to get one someday.

Agree. The 100mm macro is great. I also use it a lot for non-macro shots, and the IS works well. Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for the comment. I think the pepper is the more interesting of the two.

Since I did react:
Technically very good.
Visually static and not very interesting.
Why is Pepper cropped tighter (too tight) vertically than Lemon?
Potentially:
Twelve or more shots of different fruits / vegetables presented as a grid could be outstanding.

Thanks for reacting and commenting. You are probably correct that I cropped the pepper too tightly. In the next day or two, I will retrace my steps and try again. You think the pix are "static and not very interesting." OK, although not sure I agree. But if you are correct, why would you still think that twelve or more shots of different fruits and vegetables would be outstanding? Just a question. Thanks again for taking the time to comment.

Another entry today showed groups of flowers in a grid pattern. Eye catching and draws the viewer in to see and compare the individual pictures. Less judgement as individual masterpieces and more enjoyment as small treasures.

Pictures on the square (straight across) tend to be static. The lemon with a flat background does not contain enough information to be interesting, the pepper is a bit more informative. I think that this minimal treatment works well as part of a bigger picture, especially with the use of bright colors, but does not stand well on its own.

Still not sure I agree, but thanks for the information and viewpoint.
