Remote Shutter Release recommendations

Hi,

I have a Canon 6D II and I would like to get a good wireless remote for it. In the past I have used the standard Canon RC-6 remote and it is ok but I would prefer one that uses RF tech vs infrared so it doesn't matter where I am standing to fire it. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good one?

Thanks

I bought a vello freewire from Amazon a few months ago. Has a range of up to 320 feet. Has done well so far. It was less than $40.00 at the time.

So long as they're not pictures of you....

Check B&H, they have a great selection of remote triggers

I have used the Flashpoint Wave Commander ($19.95) for over 6 years on a daily basis, with no issues ever! It lets me trip the camera from 320' distance and it is also a intervalometer. Just the other day I changed batteries (couple of AAA's) for the fist time in all those years!
So, I',m very happy with this little remote. I can set my camera/cameras somewhere in the distance and some flashes at the same time and I can use this little remote to trigger all!

Thank-You, that is a good recommendation but I am seeing them for $80 at Amazon. Wrong one?

I had a Vello, it was awful.
It worked some of the time.
I had to use when the stars and the planets, were alined just right.
And even for that brief moment, it was iffey.
I replaced it with a SMDV wireless remote.
I recommend it.
I found it on ebay.
It cost around 60 dollars.
It's worth every cent.
You get what you pay for.

Good question. I use the Freewave by Pearstone purchased from B&H and have never had a problem. I use this on a Canon D60, 80D, 7DmkII, 5DmkIII and a 1DX. I have also had the Promaster trigger that didn't work on anything.

You can't beat Yongnuo for price and reliability.

Don't know, its hard to believe they would cost that much now, maybe I shouldn't have mentioned the price (but that was what initially intrigued me), but like I said, its been over 6 years ago, when I bought it!
