In the early 70's NAS Agana, Guam had a C-121, Connie, that we flew on various logistics flight around SE Asia & Pacific regions. The crew nicknamed our mission as "Short Haul Interisland Transport" flights. So when asked what we did with that silver bird we could reply "We fly SHIT".

A few years before my retirement, the company that I had worked for implemented a new procedure for newly hired employees. And the acronym for this new program was S.H.I.T. It stood for "Super High Intensity Training. From that point going forward each newly hired employee received their daily ration of S.H.I.T each working day for their entire six month training period. ;~)

I've been given a lot of that 'High Intensity Training'...

Sorry, this is a false story. Check Snopes and any etymology page. I do agree that we are never to old to learn something new, but just like kids, we have to be critical thinkers and check real sources. Too much other 'fake news' and 'alternate facts' are already out there....

But it is a fun 'story'.

Geez, never meant to be a 'true story, just a bit of levity...

I always thought that it was an upper management term: "Special High Intensity Training".

Well, there are adjective and adverb usages too. Should a word that has such broad usages really be a cuss word. It always takes a paragraph to get the same meaning across.

The word shit entered the modern English language via having been derived from the Old English nouns scite and the Middle Low German schite, both meaning “dung,” and the Old English noun scitte, meaning “diarrhea.” Our most treasured cuss word has been with us a long time, showing up in written works both as a noun and as a verb as far back as the 14th century.

Not in this case. It was implemented at the hourly employee level because "Upper Management" did not believe that the ones who did the ACTUAL work would know, or understand, the difference. They discovered their error in judgement a bit later when we went on a 15 week unionized labor strike and "Upper Management" failed grotesquely in their attempt to operate the production facilities and lost several large customers in the process. Attitudes changed dramatically after that and the hourly workers were seen, and treated, in a much better manner. Please excuse my rant here, but this has always left the figurative "foul taste" in my mouth (pun intended). The lost customers eventually re-established themselves with the company after concessions were made on my companies behalf.

The story is very interesting, or the fact it isn't true is very interesting?

How many amusing stories can you conjure up using those letters...that should have been the question!

Your answer is more plausible but the other one is more fun.
