Yes, that's what it is. Good shot. They certainly have their "wings" full with all that family to shield at night

Yeah, that's quite a brood. My book says normally 12-14 eggs. Momma must have really been pooped after laying 25! :lol:

Thanks, I also found it finally in my book. Never saw a family that large before. Going back on thursday to see if I can get closer for better photos of the little ones.

The belly portion that is black is not visible in the posted photo. It is under water and obscured by shadow.
