42nd St. Photo is offering a Nikon D500 for $1449, that's $450.99 under the regular price. It is by far the best price I have found for the camera. However, I'm a little skeptical and not sure whether to order from them or not. I have heard some stories about gray market and bait/switch tactics. Anybody have any experience with them? Thanks.
Reputable? No x 1,000 times.

If you decide to do business with 42nd street photo, I would like to sell you the San Francisco Bay Bridge.
Hey! That’s my bridge now. I bought it last week.
You've been here since Oct 27, 2011
Do you have to ask?
Don't confuse 42nd Street Photo with the far more reputable 47th Street Photo.
I feel like I stirred up a hornet’s nest!! I should have done a search and seen all that had been written in the past. I apologize for not doing so. Obviously, I won’t be ordering from 42nd St.

The original 47th Photo was cheap, and just OK - with pretty awful customer service. It closed for good in 1997. The "new" 47th Street Photo is in Brooklyn and probably another scam just 42nd Street Photo. I'd stay away from both. I bought my first Nikon F there in 1968.
I have used Beach Camera in NJ with great success! Fast delivery with new equipment - USA warranty and everything included. My latest purchase was a Canon 5D Mark IV. Given I live in NYS, I don't need to pay the tax and they offer free shipping and a great return policy. I have no affiliation with them other than being a customer.
Run don’t walk away from 42nd Street. Run a search on the site. This comes up every 2 months or so. Same reply by the experienced: stay away from them.
NO.NO.NO.NO.NO.NO.NO.NO.NO.NO.NO.NO.NO.NO.NO.NO. Oh yeah...NO. NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!
You would have better odds with your camera budget dollars by going to the nearest casino and playing the roulette wheel. If you won't want a camera or equipment with a US Warranty, want to have your credit card charged immediately as soon as you place your order regardless if the product you chose is in stock, if you think you have made a purchase only to be contacted later and advised you might need to purchase "our battery package, or extended warranty, go ahead and send your money to 42nd Street, make their day increase their profit.
Why run???
If you are not near the store don't order anything from them.
If you are near the store you can simply pay them a visit and you know.

Here is my actual experience with 42nd St Photo. Several years ago, I bought some camera equipment from them. I called them, and asked them questions about what I wanted to buy. They were UPFRONT and HONEST with me, told me that the item(s) I wanted to buy were gray market items, and exactly what I was getting. They DID NOT try to sell me anything I did not want. I must say, for me, my experience in dealing with them was a satisfying experience.
