I visited Steamtown in Scranton PA yesterday.
The bigboy is still in the same place.
More pics from the trip will be posted in a couple of days.

Sad to see that it is a bit more weather beaten since I saw it a few years back.
But, it is great to see it. Thanks for sharing.
Yikes, looks like it's just sitting outdoors getting dumped on by the birds and rain...exactly like the one here in Omaha. Would be nice if they were provided at least with a roof.
They said that they are currently looking for a contractor to do some painting and cosmetic work on her.
Here are a few more pics. Use download

I hope they find someone who understands what he is doing. I was up there last spring and the paint was fairly new. For it to peel of like that in a year or so says a lot about the last paint job. (and the prep for it)
Beautiful piece of machinery. Thanks for the photos.
Union Pacific is undertaking a restoration project of the the Bigboy 4014 at it's Cheyenne Yard. Restoration should be completed in 2019 in time for the 150th Anniversary of the Golden Spike in Promontory Summit. It was there on May 10th, 1869 the Union and Central Pacific joined track and unified our nation. Those wishing to attend the 150th Anniversary, please go to this website
https://www.nps.gov/gosp/planyourvisit/index.htm for alerts, updates and planning. It would be nice, if after the celebration the 4014 would take a celebration run around the country with a stop at the UP Roseville yard. I took my grandson to the visit of the 844 when visited in April 09. I'd love to get a 1st hand look at this beauty.
