Old burned out Connecticut Mansion Grand Fireplace

I’ve been driving past this many times and today the light hit the fireplace just right. There is no trespassing posted all over so I stayed at the road. This is soon cropped in camera. Such a sad sight seeing this beautiful building in this condition and it was determined to be arson. This U shape Mansion was built by writer George Weston in 1929.

There was a lot of marble imported from Italy in that house. A couple friends of mine had several visits with the original owner. When I was a kid the school bus ran by there. Quite the place!
Edit: The owner I was referring to was Stanton Gallup. He was quite wealthy and made many modifications to the 14,000 sf foot complex.
