Lotta folks are enduring the heat of summer right now, so here's how some of the locals in southern California are trying to beat the heat.

"Enduring" is a good word for it.

I found this hungry Red Fox while out on an early morning hunt, both it and me. I believe it was hoping to break its overnight fast!

Another hot, busy day. The images in this post were taken using a 50mm lens as a "tilt shift" - using an unattached lens, finding the focus and then click. It gives a softness and is hard to do. Other pix were taken with the lens detached and reversed - holding the "front' of the lens to the body opening for a macro look. Thanks Clicker for showing me how. It's a fun thing to try. Really need "download" to see the detail. It's a wonderful way to make abstracts.
