Great set, Angela and ours are so tall and top-heavy that they blow over easily so have to keep things close around them and also keep the pot watered very often so it weighs more. We used a wide plastic pot but wish we had selected a clay or ceramic one.

Thanks Corky!! I have two huge pots with10-12 seeds in each... a trellis with two garden stake supports, last year they bent over the trellis!! Seems to be working great as they are so tall and twisted!!! Can't wait for the flowers to bloom!!

Maybe you can sit the pot you have inside another heavier pot so it doesn't tip over.... those 1/2 barrel plastic pots they sell at HomeDepot and Lowes work great... just drill the holes on the side near the bottom.

Thank you, I can buy them in the UK, will send for some next year. They are edible when the beans are young.

Just looking at whats available at home I haven't been able to come up with a heavy one that has a wide enough bottom--- thought I had found the perfect one, but when I dropped the plastic one inside, it lodged about 3/4 of the way down. Tried it anyway for several days and that arrangement was even less stable than before, so with much pain extracted the wedged original pot out and now am back to point zero. It is getting quite tall and have been considering climbing it in hopes of finding some golden eggs, but Ellen tells that before I attempt it I should make it more stable and also loose a few more pounds!
Take care!

LOL.... another quick fix might be to l use four wooden stakes on all sided outside the pot, pounded deep into the ground and then use rope to hold it up.... we use a trellis and bought 6' plant stakes, put them on an angle behind the trellis... hooked them together and they're working just great!

Good luck with whatever method you use!!

Thanks, Angela and looks good to me. We now have it on the deck because of the deer, but Ellen and I were talking a while ago about maybe putting in on the ground and doing something like that to keep it upright...I had just told Ellen that the original passion flower that we had purchased had five open blooms on it, so she came outside to take a look! I don't think that these blooms will be quite as beautiful as the blooms on the ones we order from Amazon, but it's a fantastic bloomer and already had close to twenty blooms. It was kind of dark while we were out and could hear thunder in the distance but managed to take a few images of the blooms on the original one as well as the vine of the Amazon one and will try to download and send them later. Thanks for the suggestion and think we will give it a try!

How awesome you have passion flower blooms!! I can't wait, but we better decide where we should plant it in the ground soon.... do you have to cut it down all the way after the season??

No, Angela, the top will die back but the roots should remain alive and come back strong in the Spring and by this time next year suspect you will have blooms, but don't give up for this year, there still may be a bloom or two. When we made the trip to the nursery in Afton, VA the Maypops were blooming and the elevation is fairly high so suspect that their climate is probably a little more severe than yours!..I was setting up to download just a few minutes ago and all of a sudden the mouse would not work, so after trying everything that I knew (which is little) shut down and came back on and had completed about half your message when it went bonkers again (the storm in the distance may be affecting it) so guess I'd better send this now!

Thanks for that info, Corky... and I look forward to seeing flowers one day, but in the mean time, you take pictures of yours!!
You have the worst luck with electronics.... when my mouse stops, I know it's time to replace the batteries!! Hope you don't get hit bad with the storm... right now we're in the 90's with chance of storms on Wednesday... I don't have to watch the boys this week, so I'm ok with it.
