We have lots of mourning doves and the recent larger collard doves, but donât remember seeing one colored like this before. Could it be a white wing that strayed up from Arizona?
We've got lost of mourning doves around here also. I personally call all of them pigeons but, this bird looks a whole lot like a molting morning dove.

You are probably correct. The temperature has been around 110 degrees for several days now...enough to make anyones’ feathers fall out!
I have been a birder for almost 70 years and this is not any North American Columbidae I am familiar with. It could be an exotic, escaped from some collection somewhere or some mutation of one of the common doves. If this is not a PP image I would first send the image, and any more you can take to the Red Rock Audubon Society (
https://www.redrockaudubon.com) with information on the location of the bird. Las Vegas has some outstanding birders who may be able to identify it.
Good shot, ditchdigger! Sure looks like a dove; could he be molting?
May be of interest to you ditchdigger, found a website whereby you can download a bird image and they will respond with the name of the bird.
What Bird Community is it's name. You have to join the community but it is free. Give it a try. Merlin used to be like this but from what I see they are phone app only now.
