Value is irrelevant, being an estimate based on quality and rarity; whereby worth is what someone is prepared to pay for possession.

Excellent! That was the best.

The gun is not flintlock or caplock but a break open side by side probably made from the 1890’s to maybe the 1920’s. That is a guess on my part due to the limited information we can get just from the photo. I have a couple of similar guns dated around 1886, in 10 gauge with Damascus barrels. I shoot them all the time at clay targets, ducks and pheasants. One ground squirrel did bite the dust with one of them as well. My guess at value based on limited information would be about $150.00 depending on the original finish of the gun plus inside barrel condition, rusted, pitted and so on. It might make a great shooter.

I know an old geezer who used to a rental fee of $10. per wedding for a gun similar to that.
How much do you want for it?
Unless it's a rare piece it might not be worth more than a few hundred...but in it's setting it might well be worth some real money. Take it to several gun dealers for estimates...and tell them you want an insurance estimate!

Can anybody tell me the value of this shotgun?
Tough to evaluate with limited information, could be lots of things, I've seen Westley Richards and other English shotguns go for many thousands of dollars. Don't short yourself do some research.
If you look at the picture you can see it's under a buck. 😁😂
