Couple of the Guys mentioned the P-38...this is one we restored a few years ago...sadly it's now been sold to a mob in England who are getting it flying again. Probably a good thing but sad to see it go.

Wow, Ron; is there a website associated with your group? I also have to say what a spectacular you have done photodocumenting (probably not a word) all of this.

Right now I'm working on my FB gallery of Oshkosh '18. So far I only have 5 pics up but will eventually post (probably) at least a few dozen more. Most of the planes I saw at last year's show or others I've been to, but this year they had an anniversary of the RAF and had some neat aircraft. Some I only shot on the ground, but have lots of good air pics, including an inflight refueling of an F-22 by a KC-135 (two of them got gas) after which they gave us a show of their own to burn off said JP-8.

Every time I see your Avatar, I want to ask.... F-82 Twin Mustang?

The avatar is from one of my previous trips to Oshkosh. It's Burt Rutan's one-off design called, appropriately enough, "Boomerang." The twin mustang was supposed to be at Oshkosh this year after being restored, but I saw a msg in one of my aviation e-newsletters that it couldn't make it. Most likely it will be at next year's event. I posted about 1/2 dozen pics to FB about 1/2 hour ago - more to come.

Please keep us updated. Is there anyway I can follow the progress of the P-38 that was sent to England?

Interesting. If I could have enlarged the Avatar, then I would have been able to see the difference.

It's likely on my other laptop. I'll try to find it if you'd like...I'm going to eventually be transferring all my pics from one to the other anyways.
