Hi,
My name is Pete and Iam new to this blog and was hoping to learn new ways to take pictures
Welcome to the forum. You'll find plenty of help here. I like your shot, my only suggestion is to work on the Rule of Thirds by moving the main splashing wave a little to the left. Good luck and enjoy this site.
Good capture.
Yes, the rule of thirds would be good. You can rescue the shot by cropping.
Redo
I think I said to crop it in the wrong direction but you got what I meant and cropped it the right way. It looks great now. Nice job.

The redo was done by me. I am glad we both thought alike.
Good photo and nice cropping job. Thanks for sharing and sharing the idea of correction to improve. Another newbie.
Yes we are on the same wave length here. I agree with your crop.
Melissa there are plenty of us out there willing to help newbies out. We all started out as newbies and are grateful for all the help we had and are happy to pass it on. Good luck, you'll do fine, just hang in there and shoot, shoot, shoot, and you will soon notice how much you will improve.
Hi,
Kathyin thank you for your tip on the Rule of Thirds. Some times I like to shoot out side of the box.
My Dancing Cards
Pete, this shot is awesome, very creative work. Sometimes outside the box can give some excellent effects.
Hi Kathyin,
