Old Farm from a New Motel

This farm is in the middle of a small Utah town. I shot it from the 3rd floor of the hotel where I was staying. It's a real juxtaposition of times. I doubt the farm has changed in fifty or more years, while everything around it is new and modern. Just across the street is Utah's signature amusement park: Lagoon.

Nice photograph. To the left of the tractor I noticed when magnifying the download that there appears to be a ghost image hiding in the tree of the wheels of the tractor, kind of like a double exposure. I wonder what's up with that.

Hmmm. I haven't any idea. I had never noticed it before.. I have some other pics of the same scene. I'll look at them to see if they are any different.

I looked at several other shots and the ghost tractor is not there. It has to be an error on my part in PP. The tractor was originally in the right side of the photo and I used PSE to move it into the shed area. I have no idea how I managed to drop in a ghost image where I didn't want it. Meanwhile, I cloned the ghost out and it looks pretty good, but not good enough to fool a Hogger, so I won't even bother posting it. Thanks for your sharp eyes.

Small World - I spent the summer of 1965 working construction building the rehnium recovery plant in Garfield, Utah. On the weekends, through family connections, I went to the Lagoon (for free) every and saw many great performers of the day: The Rightous Bros. , Paul Revere and the Raiders, Fats Dominoe, etc. and was a judge in the Miss Teenage Utah Contest. Too much fun for a young guy. chase

Lagoon was (is?) the place to be. I haven't been there for about 40 years, but just driving by brings a lot of memories. We would visit my grandparents in Ogden and then hope we could talk them into taking us to Lagoon. It was heaven on earth to a boy in the 1950s & 60s.
