Quick Repair-Loco #484. Chama, New Mexico 2018

The daily locomotive is set to run and a last minute check turns up a problem.
In this case, the dyno/generator was not working correctly (provides power for the headlights).
The mechanics come out to find a simple adjustment with the governor was needed.

Not the proverbial pat-on-the-back pat? As in "Psssssss-burp!!"?

Great shots.

It is something you do with a colicky baby. Put it over your shoulder and pat on its back until you get that satisfying "burp".

From the second photo, it suggested to me that there was a vapor lock. (Saw something like that on an old steam tractor.)

I don't know anything about the dyno's.
They talked about the governor and that the voltage output was now, ok.
