Folks do any of you know of a decent guide about the SX60-HS. The manual is very difficult to read. Thanks for any suggestions.

There doesn't seem to be much available per a Google search. Are you near a Barnes and Noble? They list one, but sounds like minimal coverage - just the "features." I think it's the same one that's available on Amazon Kindle for just $3.99. You don't need a Kindle reader; it can be viewed through their online app.

Do you have some specific areas of concern? I can try to help you interpret. I have the sx50, though I haven't used for a year.

Hey Ciba, do you mean difficult to read because of print size? Or do you mean because of the manner in which Canon handles the camera's features in explaining each one?

Thank you I am new to the SX60, and having trouble with replay so I can evaluate the image. I am also having difficulties with the view finder, sometimes it is not on.

I bought the book from amazon on a kindle and you are correct there are no illustrations just a description on the features but no information on how to activate or control them. It is worthless.

Thanks for answering, both actually at my age even with magnifying readers the type is very small and it in the typical style of so many technical writers it takes a lot of digging to find answers. I have been using slr's and dslr's for years and due to a shoulder injury and other health issues I bought the SX60 because it is light and one lens with a lot of reach. I find the controls a little small but I can get used to that. Once I can operate the SX60 I am going to sell my Nikon collection.

What do you mean specifically by "trouble" with replay?

Re the viewfinder, user manuals being what they are, I can't find that information right at the moment, other than I read that if you close the LCD, the viewfinder will automatically be enabled.

I sent a pm to 3 UHH users, asking them to respond

Someone mentioned to me having found the online pdf to be easier to read than the written book. You'd be able to enlarge the print that way too:

https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/cameras/point-and-shoot/long-zoom-cameras/powershot-sx60-hs

I like having a pdf on my computer because then you can do the ctrl+F to open the "Find" box, type in your key word, then click through the results.

You can download the manual on line and read it easier by enlarging it!

Hi! I have the SX 60 and never had the kind of problems you speak of. Since you have 2 problems may I suggest you call Canon and ask them. I'm sure they can help. I loved the SX 60 but changed to the Nikon P900 and loved it and now I have the Sony RX10 M4 which is great for me. I'd be happy to talk to you if you like.

Canon PowerShot 1-800-652-2666 Monday-Friday: 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.
