I'm going to suggest a lot higher shutter speed than 1/160. Think 1/1000-1/2000 to freeze the motion, use a small aperture for DOF and float your ISO. Shoot bursts at the highest fps your camera will let you. Think in terms of an airshow or BIF and be prepared to weed through a lot of near misses to find the perfect keepers - they'll make it worth the effort. Keep at it!
