Yes I did buy the Canon 1dx MkII. Love it! One problem it uses a Newer RAW system different than the 1DX. Had to call canon technical support. They just told me to download an update. I use Photoshop 6 and Light Room 5. Spent a lot of money on these products and don't want to pay $10 a month for CC. The update is for PS7 CC and up? Canon Forum said to convert to DNG, then into LightRoom or Photoshop. Anybody out there have a quicker way of converting the files or a better way to get them into LightRoom or Photoshop? Thank you for your responses.

I shoot Nikon. I use the Nikon software to upload the pics and go thru them.
Anything I want to do follow up with, I save to a different folder as TIFF.

You'll pay thousands of dollars for good equipment but not a little over $100 a year to make the photos to be the best they can be? This simply does not compute in any reasonable way.

Your camera should have come with Canon Digital Photo Professional software, which should allow you to edit the RAW image and then convert to whatever....

Hi, if you go onto forums/adobe.com you will find people asking the same question regarding camera raw updates for CS5, CS6 etc posted earlier this year with instructions on how to download and install the latest updates. Hope this helps

Does the free Adobe DNG converter not work anymore? I used it before Elements supported Panasonic RAW files and it did the job. I have not tried it lately but it still might work well enough.

I had the same issue with my new Canon 80D and Adobe Camera Raw. I can't speak to Lightroom as I don't use it. I asked around on other forums and no one (just like here) had any real solutions. I too have older Adobe software and don't care to get the newer subscription. I did, however, find a very workable solution. First I downloaded the "free" Adobe Bridge so I can now see the raw files thumbnails in Bridge (still can't see them in Windows which sucks). Second I found a nifty little software called MetaRaw at thepluginsite.com. It cost me $50 but does the trick. I still have to bounce from the new Adobe Bridge to the old Bridge depending on what I am trying to do for some things but otherwise, I solved the issue.

this from their web site "MetaRaw extends the functionality of the Adobe Camera Raw plugin in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements. It lets you open camera raw files with Adobe Camera Raw, which are normally not supported by it, and allows applying Adobe Camera Raw to image layers. In Photoshop Elements MetaRaw provides automatic lens correction and chromatic aberration removal features for Adobe Camera Raw. Additionally MetaRaw includes its own raw converter, which has several advantages over Adobe Camera Raw." There is s free trial so you can see if it works for you
