Reno Air races must be gettng close.

I know that the Reno Air races are getting close. Saw a war bird fly over the house yesterday. She was too far away to identify, however after standing @ pylon #4 for several years, one cannot mistake the sound they make. Think I will go start packing my bags. I will be there this year.

Just do more testing after major modifications - that was the problem.

What kind of modifications? Air shows have had problems lately. I'd love to go shoot photos especially at Oshkosh. I would really like to catch the hot air ballons in
Albuquerque. :thumbup:

Now that is Apples & Oranges - the Air race is all about speed and going faster - the guy who crashed last year realy modified that plane's wing tips plus other things I have forgotten - my close friend is a prop refurbisher and sponcers part of the program - he is the one who informed me of the modifications. Oshcosh is a whole new ball game so many types of aircraft - I would love to be there. As for the ballon races both in Albaquire & Reno with all those balloons going up at one time and no way to guide them - kinda scarry but spectacular - I crewed on a ballon a few times 40 yrs ago & got some great photos

Yep,the race goes on ! Last years insurance cost was $300,000 , this year it jumped to $2,000,000 due to last years accident.The town put together and helped pay for it due to the fact that it brings in 80 million to the local economy.I got my tickets last month and hope to show some here ..Can't wait !
