Hi guys. This is the bee's knees. Finally a way to make great shots without carrying on in pp to the nth degree. I use Paintshop X2 and will endeavor to get into HDR much more. Still playing and not good. I haven't yet learnt how to bracket with my 50D so any hints would be great. I know, read the manual!!!!!
Here is my first attempt, but didn't use bracketing, just 2 shots at different settings and merged them. They were hand-held and resting on a fence, centre focus aimed at one point. Simply adjusted the +/-.

Here is a link to a tutorial on how to Bracket on your 50D. I use Nikon so this is the best I can do for you. Remember, we are all learning, just some a little more advance than others. try using 3 exposures or more in bracketing, and I look forward to seeing more from you. Madmike

thanks heaps
I just tried that on my Canon 50D which doesn't work that way as stated. If I hold down on the shutter button all the way, it will shoot one picture. If I slightly release the shutter button slightly and repress it again and again, it will shoot the three images. I normally shoot with a remote release and slightly release (about halfway) the button and press again for each shot it works fine. This works satisfactorily for me. Maybe yours will work as per the instructions or the manual.

I also have a Canon 50D and I set by bracketing from what they say in the book on page 174 and then go one extra step, put the AF/Drive on 2sec timer and it will take all three shots with no problems, just learned that yesterday and it works great.
That sounds great drhanson. Will have to have a try asap.Need to wait till the mrs goes to work.

Thanks for the info. I stopped just short of that -- now I know I should have gone one more step.
