The final images I chose from the Japan trip...

Flowers from Hokkaido.
Flowers from Hokkaido....

More flowers...
More flowers......

Still more, but could not help posting them.

This is a river that is very hot- about 200 degrees, and very rich in minerals. It is located in the mouth of the volcano located in one of the national parks in Hokkaido. Note the burnt rocks and sulfer. An amazing sight and so cool to be able see.

A scene filled with Lavandula.

And how can you shoot flowers without a butterfly? Note the eyes.

Absolutely wonderful set of postings. I have been enjoying each time you post of photos in China, and now these shots in Japan. Thank you so much for both the wonderful quality photos, but as much for the stories you post of your experience and photo subjects.

These are a beautiful set of photos, much different from the usual sightseeing or stock-type photos of a foreign country. Thanks for posting these, Mark.

Wow. Such a nice note from you. Thank you! It is honestly an honor for me to share these and have people look at them and like them. To me it is what being a photographer is about. As someone who teaches photography, I always think telling a bit of a story makes the photo that much more interesting if you know the context of the image itself. Thank you once again!

With your pleasing compositions, your choices for color schemes, and your abilities to pleasingly compose by using the many colors of your subjects, you have cleverly shown a talent for impeccably proportioning within your camera's viewfinder, idyllic percentages of the colors afforded you whereby when you employ those of your choosing, they juxtapose beautifully!

As an afterthought, may I say that it is pleasing to one's eyes when seeing how you have sometimes composed your main subjects by approaching them at obscure angles!!! Of course, by your employing this technique, you will often produce far more interesting images for exhibit...

Best regards,
~ Slade ~
