You've shot one of my most favorite Orchids. The first shot of a Masdevallia Orchid is absolutely gorgeous. Just as tender and elegant as this little bloom portraits; you've definitely captured its unique, simple quality in this beautiful shot. Thank you.

While I was in Quito I visited the Jardin Botanico. Besides the really nice trail that wanders through the park, they have an orchid collection - with lots of other stuff in it. They don't allow tripods, so all of these were handheld. And, I only had my Tamron 28-300 with me, that I don't trust much for focus. These have minimal processing. If you think there's more I should do, please let me know. And they are NOT cropped.

Kathy, an excellent set of photos and I would leave them as they are.

An aside, I love your signature line and it is exactly what we do.

Greg

Enjoyed all. On the third, I would leave the blue pole as it adds great color contrast interest. Would maybe crop from the top taking out the black pole. Scroll it down and you will see what I am saying. Looked at three again-if you crop from top as I suggested, one's eye is drawn back through the window in a very pleasing way.

Thanks so much. I don't know my orchids, so I had to look that one up to see which one you were talking about. I truly appreciate your lovely comment.

Thanks, Greg. I do so little PP and I know most people do a lot. So I always wonder what I might be missing. And thanks for your comment on my tagline. Yes, that's what I do and why I do it! I can take no credit for the beauty in the world; only an appreciation for being able to see it!

Thanks, MT. That little rosebud was just so beautiful and it caught the light as though begging to be captured! And even though pink is my least favorite colour, it IS pretty in flowers.

Thanks. I was thinking the blue pole fights with what is supposed to be the star of the show. And it's at a different angle so it bothers me. Yes, cropping a bit will help. You're so right. I was sort of hoping to be able to crop out the blue pole, but that doesn't work.
