I went to a Rangers-Red Sox game in Arlington earlier this year. The changes that they've implemented have helped to speed the game up. It really moved along at a good pace. The game was over and I thought it was the end of the 8th!!

I will agree that the game has become too home run oriented, which could mean that it's time to raise the mound a bit. In the fifties, some of the players didn't play for that much money. Today, everybody plays for a million bucks. You've seen changes in rules to protect these expensive athletes. The play at the plate, for instance. However, if a player is going to make a million bucks or more, he's going to spend a lot more time working out, getting stronger, working on the technical aspects of the swing like swing speed, swing angle, etc. As a result, more homers. All these guys need to do is connect the fat part of the bat to the ball to send it out of the park. That's not to say the pitchers can't throw some mean stuff. But not all of them have the same mojo. Which brings me back to the mound. The mound was lowered years ago because the pitchers had an advantage. Now it's time to reverse things and raise it again.

I remember a Dodger pitcher & Mil Brave pitcher going 15 innings & pitch count at 150+.
That started the pitch count because of arm or shouler injuries. That in the late 50's, early 60's.
