I have a question :
I'm looking for a camera to use my old manual focusing lenses ( for macro etc.)
if you connect an HDMI monitor to the T-5 will it display what the camera sees ( so that I can focus the lens BEFORE taking the photo ) or is the HDMI out connection only good for viewing photos/videos that have already been taken ?
thank's
The t5i will display live view using the HDMI connection. Unfortunately I have sold the camera provided that the guy shows up when he's supposed to.
My wife has a t6 she is willing to sell... it has Wi-Fi and I believe the HDMI connection supports live view also.
I'll check into it.

Generally , when a camera has so-called "Live view" it only reflects more accurately on the rear screen what the final picture will look like (and usually only with the camera in full auto mode)
The HDMI output usually only allows the photos/videos to be seen on a monitor AFTER they have been recorded.
Could you please verify if it actually transmits to a Monitor/ TV /Computer when you just turn on the camera ??
thanks
Ok. I hooked it up to my 51inch... it will perform live view display. The problem is that you cannot change the focus point as you would while viewing the lcd.
