Saved over a million dollars worth of ink? It must have been Canon ink.

I wonder why you Americans spell aluminium aluminum ? Check wiki periodic table. Or is this a problem from the country that is the last bastion of imperial measurements ? Even your spell checker gets it wrong.
Or is it that Americans can't pronounce words correctly ? Phonetically (this is not quite right but it will do) it is "al-lu-min-ni-um" not "al-lu-mi-num". Or am I verging on fake news here ?

Now note :-) :-) :-)

Just remember we speak American English, not British English. What is the quote about England and the U.S. two countries divided by a language?

Just think of all the ink and energy that is saved by not typing in that extra i or the u in words like colour (color). LOL

Well colour spelt color is still pronounced the same but aluminium spelt aluminum is not pronounced the same. So where did the misspelling come from ?

It is interesting to see, how the metric system is pushing out the old, non logical imperial system. Unfortunately, it will take generations to convert completely to metric.

I was in the US about 41 years ago. I was led to believe by various things I read (I believe hardly anything I read now) that the US had embraced metric and was well on the way towards implementing it. Found out this wasn't correct the first time I went into a shop there. Looks like progress hasn't been too flash since. I believe it is a conspiracy by tool manufacturers fostered to make everybody buy two sets of tools.

Tool makers want us to buy complete sets of both types of tools.

Blame it on Webster's dictionary.

Funny, but I wrote my comment (below) before I read your remark. "Great minds..."

Difficult to recycle? Not!!!!!!

Well, the process of recycling aluminum cans compared to glass bottles is rather involved, and it also leaves a much bigger footprint to the environment!

There should be large vats of soda in supermarkets. Customers would bring a bucket and scoop up the drink of their choice.

Remember those old pickle barrels? Even as a kid, I thought they unsanitary.
