Interesting Tidbit: The males of this turtle have a shell length of around 6 inches while
the females can be up to 11 inches long. These turtles can be found throughout both the
Mississippi and Tennessee river systems. The average lifespan of these turtles may be up
to 40 to 50 years. Cumberland sliders, like all aquatic turtles, can only swallow food when
