I tried Jupiter and Mars this last weekend. Even tho the weatherman says how clear it was gong to be, everything gin the sky was twinkling and the planets were bouncing all over. I know its not as bad as you east coasters have it, but was disappointed that Mars was a complete bust.

This is my Jupiter, going to try it again this weekend.

Brian , that's awesome ! your processing skills are shining and Saturn is really good , just because the stars are twinkling isn't all bad . That's just our crappy atmosphere getting in the way because the planets are riding lower in the sky , I've got to cut though the soup and take many 1000's of frames to get a couple decent frames to stack .

Nice capture. What was your setup for the photo?

I used a QHY5III224C for video on an old Meade etx125, with a 2.5 Televue Powermate. Captured 85k frames and used 70% of that as my stack. Stacked in Autostakkert2, wavelets in Registax, a little clean up in Photoshop. I had 4 videos of 85k frames, was trying to stack the 4, but was having some problems.

According to the quality graph, I should have only used ~ 2% of the frames, but using the higher percent seemed better.

One of the prettyist Saturn's I've seen.

I haven't even seen my equipment for over 40 days now.
No need to unpack it in Washington.
Dark was after 10PM, Light came on at 4:30-5:00AM, and couldn't see the sky for all the trees.

I just unpacked the equipment. Couldn't find my telescope.
The remembered it was in a more forward compartment of the basement.
Tomorrow is another day, and maybe I can get it set up before the concrete melts for the day...

Saturn has been very cooperative this season for all of us it seems.
Except Sonny, and it wasn't even his fault this time.
Nicely done and the second shot is really nice.

Cool, the weekend looks like a tough one, at least near me with all the humidity and marine layer.

Thanks, I stacked the individual avi’s with autostakkert2, then stacked the stacked images from autostakkert with Registax, if I recall, I had 4 avi’s.
