I was advised by Admin to post to this forum. This week is Apollo 11 week (July 16-24). The following is a 9-minute slideshow to commemorate this mementos event. Care to watch? Thanks.

I recently visited the Armstrong Air And Space Museum in Wapakoneta, Ohio, the hometown of Neil Armstrong. I also attended the parade for Neil Armstrong that took place in Wapakoneta after the moon landing.

Thanks for posting this video. Lots of good memories.

Thanks for sharing. I remember that event well. Watching it on my family's first Brand New color TV in 1969. The landing News was in color.

Thanks for watching. I still remember the first moon landing clearly. I was freshman in college then. Work and schools went to a halt. Those on the streets were glued to stores small TV screen. It was like an unofficial holiday in the Philippines on the day Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon. About a dozen of us watched in a classmate's living room small screen TV in black and white to see the first men walk on the moon. It was mainly mixed feelings of joy, curiosity, and fear. I was afraid that some moon creature or its version of "black foot" would suddenly come out from one of the craters and attack the astronauts.

It's sad that Neil Armstrong is no longer with us. He was an idol and hero to all, here and abroad. Godspeed, Neil Armstrong.

I have no doubt that next year will be a BIG (Golden) celebration not only in Wapakoneta, OH, the USA, but the whole world and may be the Lunar natives, if any. FWIW, July 16, 2019 will be a full moon (100%) then starts to wane but still 89% visible on July 20, 2019.

Thanks for watching. I don't think anyone can pinpoint when the space race itself officially ended but in my humble opinion, I think July 20, 1969 event unofficially ended the race to the moon. (The Soviet Union and China banned the TV broadcast of the first moon landing in their respective countries.) The Russians tried several manned lunar missions but failed.

Thanks for posting.
interesting stuff!
BTW:
A more meaningful/helpful title would have been:
"Apollo 11 week"

Thanks for watching and the comment. Actually, I had the original title something like but I posted in the wrong forum and got deleted. I reposted, this time in the right forum but expressing the apology got to me first. I'm kinda new to the UHH and still learning my way around.

Thanks again.

No worries.
Just be specific about topic titles.
Too often people use the word “Help”, which gives us zero clues to what’s in the thread. Welcome!
