I had the opportunity to shoot some wakeboarding at a cable park this weekend. I have a Canon T6 and a 55-250mm lens and neither of them are very fast but I think I got some decent shots. This was one of my first attempts to try shooting sports. Please let me know what you think.
Neat-o! I love that you caught the shadow in the last shot. My thought about #1 is that it's kind of between an "oops" blur and a purposeful blur. At only ISO 100, you had plenty of leeway to use a faster shutter speed to get a crisp stop-action, if you wanted to try. I'm curious if you had on burst/continous mode and also if you tried panning on any? If you haven't come across the term yet:

Linda I was shooting in continuous mode and panning on some of the shots. I was using back button focus and my camera would stop shooting after about 4 or 5 bursts. It just couldn't keep up with focusing and shooting that fast. (You get what you pay for) I was shooting in aperture priority and probably should have moved it to shutter priority as well. I liked the shadow as well. I did another crop where it is just the shadow and the spray of water. It looks like the shadow is creating the spray.

Thanks for the info! With my Canon SX50 I tried to learn to take shorter bursts 'cause when you're photographing a parent eagle landing in the nest with breakfast for babies, that blacked out screen can take interminably long to clear
My new-to-me Olympus EM10 works fast, but a little bit of that could be the card. With the sx50 I hadn't considered that possibly I wasn't using the fastest write-speed card I could have been. Your shadow/spray water sounds cool!
Really cool shots - what a fun day
I liked to panning shots a lot. Were you able to catch any shots of skiers coming off the top of the ramp?

I haven't had chance to go through them all but here is one. Not as sharp as the others though.
