Regular SDHC card?
Micro + adapter SDHC Card?

I use both SDHC and Micro SDHC in adapters, having no problems with either.
I don't use anything larger that 16Gb because I don't want to put all my images on one card (eggs in basket). Plus, I'm not sure if my eight year old camera can handle anything larger than 16Gb.
I only purchase class 10 chips though, for the speed. I like Sandisk the best.

It's up to you, whatever floats your boat.

Sandisk is a well respected name, although, there are a number of good brands on the market.
Micro + adapter will slow down read/write speeds to some degree and the tiny cards are that much easier to lose. I have used them with good results when I have been away from home for extended periods and my only device to view my photos on had only a Micro slot. Otherwise, I prefer the standard cards.
Most of my cards are 32gb, but, that is overkill really. Unless you are shooting video 16gb is plenty for most people. On trips/vacation I prefer to change cards every day so that if I lose or damage a card I would lose fewer shots. It all depends on your shooting habits and the size of your photo files. If you shoot a lot of RAW then 32 might be your best choice.
Buy from a reputable dealer, such as B&H, Adorama, etc. There are counterfeits out there so be wary of real low prices.

Why does a Micro in an adapter slow down the R/W speed? It should be straight through wiring extension, no electronics in the adapter.

It doesn't. It only depends on the read/write speeds of the individual card. I'm currently using a micro SD card, which will quite happily record 4K video. No problems with speed there. Just check the card you want is fast enough for your needs.

I'm with Longshadow on this one. For Raw I like 16 and 32gb, for general snapshot or equipment testing I use the 8 and 16gb - always Class 10 Hi-speed (read/write). Plus I see lots of "sales" now on the 8/16/32 gb cards at quite reasonable prices - Sandisk and Transcend are two I use a lot.

Current designs may have eliminated that factor but I remember reading an article some years back that stated adapters did have an effect on speed.

Edit: Just split open a spare adapter I have. It is straight through so it seems unlikely to affect speed. The article I read could have referred to an earlier design or simply been inaccurate.

Go regular size - why 2 pcs when 1 pc less chance of problem. SanDisk Ultra goes for $8-9 for 16 Gb or $12-13 for 32 Gb. Size depends on whether you shoot RAW & Jpeg, video, lots of shots, traveling, etc.

I have adapters for each micro, ergo one piece.
Granted, the micros themselves are VERY easy to lose.

I’ve used both micro and Standard cards SanDisk Sony and others and had no problems with any. Things you may also want to consider Ste the read and write speed 80 MB or or more. This would be for more exposure is per burst etc. or frames per second although the 3300 isn’t all that fast. And another thing to consider is if you shooting just JPEG or JPEG and RAW Using both will consume 5 to 6 times more space chips space per shot. And depending on the quality of your JPEG can take you from say 4000 shots to 7 or 800 Per card. My numbers may be off but you get my point

I would like to see a lab study on speed using an adapter. I took a master radio/tv course and worked for many years as a telephone technician and everything I have seen or know would tell me that there could be a delay on data transfer using an adapter. When you work with plug in equipment of any type, contacts where connections are made often lose their effectiveness and often cause failures. with an adapter, you plug the mini card in to a devise that has to connect to the adapter and then the adapter makes the connection with the camera. If you are taking single shots there may be no noticeable impact but if you are set to take 6 or 10 shots with one push of the camera button, I would think this would be where speed could be measured. The longer the path of a circuit the more resistance and there very well could be impacts we just don't notice.

At the speed of light, another inch in the adapter will not make a difference.
The copper traces in the adapter have virtually no resistance. The contacts are gold plated.
